A major multinational in the food-canning industry was concerned about yield losses in the production process as a result of the increasingly smaller batches of supplies that the customers wanted and the wider range of references.
During the analysis phase, the processes of reformatting a product in its packaging processes where studied and it was observed that with a better organisation of the process the productive yield loss could be reduced up to 75%.
In the implementation phase of the new processes, plant performance improved and there was a significant reduction of inventories of a finished product.
